BRAZIL - Fazenda Camboa Organic

Back to overview

Fazenda Camboa Estate is a family farm in the Mata-Atlantica rainforest. The tropics can be recognized in the pleasant and strong profile, with balanced acidity, sweetness and presence of red fruits.

Fazenda Camboa's farm history started in 1942. Though the disasterous hit of the Witches' Broom disease in 1998, locally known as an act of bio-terrorism, resulted in a loss of 98% of the production. It is only thanks to Arthur and Eduardo Carvalho, their passion for quality, and innovative organic farming methods to combat diseases, that Camboa became a flourishing fine cacao producing farm again. Cacao is grown under the lush rainforest, and one of the only organic certified farms in Bahia region, preserving the rich biodiversity.
